Blueberry picking

Love this time of year! We tried a new blueberry farm today that is supposed to be certified organic next year (but already practicing). It's in High Springs, about a 40-minute drive from our house. It is near Poe Springs and Blue Springs, if you wanted to make a day of going to a spring and picking blueberries. That is what I wish we had thought of sooner. Live and learn, or live and increase your multi-tasking. Anyway, they are $3.50 a pound. We went at the very end of Saturday, and there were still plenty of blueberries. And I must say that the staff (maybe also the family/house residents) were so great! They encouraged you to eat while you pick and were super friendly.

Directions: From Gainesville, Florida, merge onto I-75 North exit 399 take 441 North towards High Springs, Turn left onto Main Street/US 41NW continue to follow US 41, turn right onto SW Poe Springs Road/ CR 340 continue to follow CR 340 NW, pass Poe Springs on your right keep going until you see the entrance to Blue Springs on your right then turn left onto 80 street go to the stop sign and turn right onto NE 40th street, The farm is on your right.
